Pregnant After Vasectomy Reversal

I got married at 25 years old. After 5 years of an abusive and tumultuous marriage, I was facing divorce. I was terrified, and didn’t know what to do. I was 30 years old and had no clue what my future would look like, let alone if I would even ever have children. I felt like I had no strength or will to live. I have been a Christian for my entire life, but I truly had to learn what it meant to lean on God to live.

He gave me supernatural strength and rest, and I was able to eventually feel like a somewhat normal person again. I had to sacrifice what I wanted, and follow Him. I was single for 2 years, turning down every guy who asked me out. I had to learn how to be happy for friends and family who were getting married and having babies. It was the hardest and best time of my life.

After 2 years, I met my husband. I had been waiting for someone like him for my whole life, but shortly after we met, he let me know that he had a vasectomy almost 10 years prior. I was devastated. Through much prayer and discussion, he let me know that he was willing to go through a reverse vasectomy in order for us to have children.

Two years later we got married, less than a year later, he had his surgery. It took about 5 months of trying for it to happen. I know that 5 months is not a long time. I know that people try for years and years. But it was not 5 months in the making; it was 34 years in the making. I had to go through so much heartache to get here.

My baby girl is the promise that God had for me before I was even born. I had to learn how to trust Him with my life and my plans. He ALWAYS fulfills his promises.

Moms in the Making has been a huge support to me. I was so thankful to be a part of a group of women who were also awaiting their promises from the Lord. I understand what it’s like to have to find the strength to be happy and content in the waiting. The book, “In Due Time,” helped me tremendously & resonated with me and I felt like Jesus spoke to me so much through every chapter!
